We visited Election commission on August 20. It was my second visit to the Election Commission. The students of grade 10 went there with our social teacher and supervisor. The visit was very informative and helped us learn a lot of things related to election. We were taught by two reputed teachers who made the visit and learning more effective.

The election commission of Nepal is second election commission to be established and first in Asia. It manages election processes of Nepal. Lately, it is busy for the election in Mangsir. Therefore, we could learn about the activities. Firstly, we were divided into 2 groups. One group was shown a documentary about the history of Nepalese democracy and election while the other group interacted with devices like touch pad, which included audio, graphics. The documentary was 25 minutes long and it really showed the history of Nepalese democracy, the first ever election and long fight for democracy. When we interacted with the devices, we got to learn a lot. We could answer the questions through touch pads and listening to the facts and information related to election. Then we were given a class on election, its types, its procedure and necessity. The class was 2 hours long and very informative. It made me clear bout the 6 types of election and the process of choosing the candidates. The ballot box, ballot papers, manifesto and electronic voting machine were shown to us. We conducted a mock election to practice election to make us clear about casting vote. It also was helpful for us to know the function of different manpower required for election like polling officer, security officer, Election officer and other officers.

I could learn about various issues concerning election through officials as well as multimedia. The visit really paid off and taught us really well. I am certain that the other people visiting there must have been able to learn a lot. I really appreciate our school as the government of Nepal for giving students ike us to learn about a democratic act, election at a young age for effectiveness in the future
