Teej festival



Teej is a festival celebrated by Nepali women, for the long life of her husband and long and firm relationship between them until the death this life and all the lives to come. Teej festival generally falls in august or early in the september. This festival is dedicated to Goddess Parvati ,who is the wife of Lord Shiva .During this festival women is dressed in red sarees with gold ornaments from hesd to toe.On this special occasion , people invite their married daughters to their home to celebrate the festival together. It is also an opportunity for the women to go their parents house. The folk music and dances add more flavor to tradational values of Teej.This festival also welcomes and celebrates arrival of monsoon after a season of summer heat. Teej is  mainly celebrated for three days which are Dar khane din , fasting day and rishi panchami.
